Puzzles of Color – Old Classic by Domonique Brown
$27.99/500 pieces
The 15-day dispute between YouTube TV and Disney could have been much worse in my household if not for a timely review of Puzzles of Color. Puzzles either make most folks crazy or serene. This one was the latter.
Since I couldn’t watch my favorite teams because of the blackout, I listened to the games instead while trying to piece together a 500-piece puzzle with friends. I had a ball, and so did they after getting over skepticism of no TV broadcast.
Puzzles of Color is a Black-owned family business dedicated to preserving Black culture. The puzzles are created in collaboration with artists of color. We had so much fun that even after the blackout was lifted, we made a date to meet again with another puzzle and just the radio in the background.

I love sweets: chocolate, cakes, pies – they are my Achilles' heel. But as I get older, I know my sugar intake needs to decrease. Except I can’t stand sugar-free STUFF. There is a difference in taste despite the lying advertisements.
Needless to say, I was quite skeptical to try Crispy Fruit by Crispy Green. “Skip the sugar, keep the sweet” it says; yeah, right!
It’s. Not. Bad. In fact, I kept the entire box of goodies after promising to give the rest to a friend because I just knew I wouldn’t like it. Crispy Fruit has just one ingredient: 100% pure fruit and freeze dried. The first bite took some getting used to, but the more I ate the better they tasted.
So, if you’re starting 2026 on a healthier diet, you could do worse than Crispy Fruit. It gives you the sugar without all the sugar.
