Welcome to the CAA, Shawn Gibbs.

North Carolina A&T was picked to finish last out of 14 teams at Thursday’s CAA Media Day. Fifth-year senior offensive lineman Korion Sharpe was the only Aggie to make the preseason all-conference team. Another fifth-year senior, kickoff returner Aaron Harris, earned honorable mention. A&T went 1-11 last season and has yet to win a CAA game in two seasons.

Fellow CAA member and rival Hampton was picked 11th. The Pirates finished a decent 5-7 under first-year coach Trenton Boykin. The Pirates forfeited their six wins in 2023 due to NCAA violations. HU ranked second in the conference in rushing last season, averaging 195.8 yards per game. The defense wasn’t too shabby either, allowing a league-best 317 total yards per game.

Senior long snapper Jonathan Ward, a Durham native, was the only Pirate on the all-conference team. Defensive back Will Hicks earned honorable mention.
