MEAC Tournament set
Norfolk State women finished the regular season 14-0 after defeating Howard in the season finale. The last women’s team to go undefeated was N.C. A&T in 2018-19 season. NSU will face last-seed South Carolina State March 12 at noon to open the MEAC Tournament.
Howard is No. 2 after going 12-2 in the conference – both losses to the Spartans. Howard vs. Delaware State play at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
North Carolina Central and Morgan State were tied at 6-8, and the Eagles won the tiebreaker to take the fifth spot. The Eagles play Coppin State March 13 at noon. Friday’s semifinals are noon and 2:30 p.m., with the championship game Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPNews.
On the men’s side, Norfolk State and South Carolina State finished the season as co-champions, with the Spartans winning the tiebreaker and the No. 1 seed. NCCU is No. 6 after losing at SCSU in the finale.
The men’s tournament opens Wednesday at 6 p.m. with NSU vs. Maryland Eastern Shore and S.C. State vs. Coppin State. NCCU takes on Delaware State Thursday at 6 p.m., and Howard vs. Morgan State at 8:30 p.m. Friday’s semifinals are 6 and 8:30 p.m., with the championship Saturday at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. Both the women’s and men’s games will be streamed throughout the week on ESPN+.
