Scavenger Hunt for Black-owned Businesses

Posted by: Editor-Bonitta Best on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 12:00:00 am

Ready to have some fun and support Black-owned businesses?

Black Dollar, Inc., a website founded by Johnny Hackett Jr., to showcase black-owned businesses, has created “Back Black Business Scavenger Hunt!” As Hackett writes in the press release: “This ain’t a game for the lazy or unwilling – it’s not about winners and losers, either. Have fun with it, show your love for Black-Owned Businesses and help contribute to an overall goal of more engagement with Black-Owned Businesses!”

The hunt has officially begun. There is a score sheet to fill out that must be turned in by 11 p.m. on June 18. The top three winners will receive $1,500 to donate to a Black-owned business of your choice. But you won’t go away empty-handed either. Winners also get $500 to spend during the Shopper’s Block event on July 19 or July 17 in downtown Raleigh.

You can download all the information here. There’s even a list of Black-owned Raleigh companies for you to “Hunt.” Happy trails.
