Panthers Play 60 Challenge Course |
At a recent Raleigh City Council meeting, the Carolina Panthers presented a $150,000 check to the city of Raleigh. The donation will help to create a Panthers Play 60 Game Time Challenge Course at Barwell Road Park, providing health and fitness opportunities for teenagers and adults in the southeast Raleigh community. This will be the first NFL Play 60 course in the Triangle and has a variety of unique play elements best described as NFL Combine meets Ninja Warrior. It will include a timed 40-yard dash, a traverse wall, floating boards and other obstacles to challenge children’s agility. Play 60 Challenge Courses are part of a 10-year-old NFL initiative to encourage children to get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. The playgrounds are specifically designed to appeal to youth who have outgrown traditional playground equipment, but the Challenge Course is popular with all age groups and engages the entire family. Construction will begin in the fall. |
