"Those who try to make this a socioeconomic or black issue are oversimplifying a complex problem..." I have not doubt that this is a complex problem to solve. But please explain the CCCAC's core message via the statement, "People have to understand what ?disadvantaged? looks like. It is not black. It is not Hispanic. It involves socioeconomic status. It is a ?have? and ?have-not? situation...? In truth, those calling for "change" and "improvement" like the NAACP and CCCACC are SOLELY interested in bussing for "socioeconomic diversity" [since the law prevents the schools from considering race] with NO regard for cost, practicality or negative impact on the rest of the students attending WCPSS who may not happen to share their income level or skin color. In truth, Tata was not beholden to highly vocal special interests in his decision-making process and THAT's the reason we're now without a leader, competent board direction or a workable assignment plan. Don't delude yourself otherwise.

Those who try to make this a socioeconomic or black issue are oversimplifying a complex problem. Do you have any idea how difficult it was for schools to make plans for the 2012-2013 school year this spring and summer? Without base schools, student numbers were constantly in flux. This makes it impossible to adequately plan for staffing needs that are based on Average Daily Membership (ADM) numbers. The unsustainable student assignment plan was also made independently (and ultimately incompatible with) the new cost-saving transportation plan. Administrators and board members who have never spent time in a classroom or school office dont understand the far-reaching effects of these decisions.

Tata's firing--in reality--had *nothing* to do with his "lack of educational experience." Tata was not hired to teach school. He was hired to properly apportion taxpayer funded resources in a way that conformed to the majority of parents' demands for Proximity, Stability and Student Performance. Tata succeeded in creating an extraordinarily accommodating plan that all but a vocal minority of Progressive activists were happy with. Tata was ousted?in reality--because he succeeded implementing a workable assignment solution, in winning support from a majority of taxpayers and because he stood in the way of the new Progressive board majority's desire to dust off the old "bussing for diversity" plan to appease the NAACP and other misguided agitators. In the net, the board has broken their promises to parents/citizens/taxpayers to refrain from sudden or overt changes to the new assignment policy, ousted a proven and respected leader and wasted HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of taxpayer dollars. It?s an unbelievable travesty for our community as a whole and will drive vigorous activism in favor of school vouchers and/or separation of Cary City schools from WCPSS so that we can be free of this ridiculous dysfunction.

Utter and complete DRIVEL. The "socioeconomic" wherewithal of a student in a classroom has NOTHING to do with his ability to learn to read, write, add and subtract. The parenting and discipline he receives at home DOES, in fact, have lots to do with learning potential. Parents do not need lots of money or any other "advantage" to teach their children discipline and proper behavior. We will NOT allow our children--regardless of background--To be used as racial and socioeconomic "diffusion" by a group of radical leftist Progressives to create the Utopia they--and they alone--believe exists when a society wastes extraordinary amounts of taxpayer money, makes education unnecessarily inconvenient for everyone in the district and saps tons of fiscal and human resources to fashion a FANTASY, all to make themselves feel better about their inability to parent their children properly.
