The Sonja Haynes Stone Center will host Cape Verdean filmmaker and Stone Center Visiting Artist Guenny Pires for a virtual screening and Q&A session for the North Carolina premiere of his award-winning film CONTRACT. The virtual screening will take place at 12pm via Vimeo with a follow-up Zoom question and answer at 2 pm EST with the director! You will receive a link to view the film on Vimeo. CONTRACT is a film about the centuries-old system of contract slave labor that exported thousands of Cape Verdeans to the island of Sao Tome to work on plantations.
