Posted by: Editor-Bonitta Best on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 12:00:00 am

South Carolina State is not just winning on the football field. The university surpassed its $2 million goal with its R.I.S.E. Initiative. To date, the total is $2.13 million. “I’m real excited to announce that we’ve exceeded our working goal of $1.78 million. We’ve exceeded our (SCSU President) James Clark challenge goal of $2 million and we’ve raised  to date $2.13 million. That campaign has been a huge success,” athletics director Stacy Danley said in a statement.

Flo is back: FloSports will broadcast a package of MEAC sports this year with FloHoops, FloTrack, FloSoftball and FloLive. Twelve men’s regular season basketball games and two women (Why do women always get the shaft?); 16 men’s and women’s tourney games; outdoor track & field conference championships, indoor track conference, championship rounds of both the baseball and softball conference tourneys. FloSports is a subscription network that is more expensive that ESPN+.

And speaking of, January 6’s matchup between Southern and Prairie View A&M will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. EST on ESPNU.
