Grace for President

Posted by: Editor-Bonitta Best on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 12:00:00 am

Commissioner Jessica Holmes invites young girls across Wake County to join her for the musical “Grace for President.”

“I believe this experience is particularly important for low-income girls and girls of color because we need to be proactive about encouraging them to see themselves in leadership roles and seeing politics as a way of changing their circumstances and uplifting our communities. It is important that we uplift and empower all girls.”

Holmes and the cast will host an after-show conversation with the audience about leadership and public service. She will share her experience as an elected official, reflect upon the show and speak about her ambitions when she was Grace’s age.

With a goal of ensuring that all girls have an opportunity to attend, the Raleigh Little Theater and Holmes has partnered to provide discounted and free tickets to those who may otherwise be unable to attend. Purchase tickets online for the Oct. 14 performance at 1 p.m. at https://raleighlittletheater.org/, using the discount code “JESSICA” or simply call the box office at (919) 821-3111 and share that you are one of Jessica’s special guests, and you will receive a free ticket. Please call and reserve your seat as soon as possible as there is limited seating and the show may sell out.
